Macduff

Quite a complex nose, made from a mix of malt, spices, ginger bread and some hints of yeast. Spices give it a kind of freshness, contrasting with the malt smells. This nose is completely different of the currently marketed bottles.
The mouth is first on malt and develops clearly on very pleasant toffee notes. A touch of spices gives it a nice and pleasant complexity.
The finish is lingering and prolongs perfectly the mouth. The yeast has fortunately completely disappeared...
Amazing quality for a relatively young bottling of a distillery which is not famous for the quality of its young whiskies. Does this mean the nowadays quality has decreased compared to 30 years ago...?
