Il y a une petite maison de vente qui se trouve à Glascow dont le département whisky est plutôt prometteur..

Oban Lifeboat’s rare fundraising whisky is to go on sale next week for £195 a bottle.

The Oban Lifeboat Management Committee has decided that a limited number of bottles of the 18 year old single malt whisky will go on sale at Birchwood Service Station, in Oban, on Tuesday 9th April.

Additional bottles will be available for Internet buyers only, via the online whisky shop website here of the Green Welly Stop, at Tyndrum, from the middle of April.

Two of the 297 limited edition bottles, from a 250 litre hogshead of whisky gifted to the charity by Oban Distillery in the 1990s, sold for £260 each at Glasgow’s Mulberry Bank Auction on 19th March 2013 . The catalogue estimate had been £140-£180.

At the lifeboat committee meeting £195 was agreed as the price because that was the average figure, out of all the suggested prices put forward by committee members – a commonsensical balance. The point is that the whisky was given to raise funds for the Oban lifeboat in the RNLI service which is funded solely from public subscriptions.

Mulberry Bank’s whisky specialist, Angus MacRaild, says that the whisky is a desirable bottle for a collector: ‘It is a nice whisky. It’s very rare to see an independent bottles like that. It’s unusual. It’s something new to the market.’

The whisky was gifted to Oban Lifeboat, to be used for raising funds, to mark its 40th anniversary
last year.

Many months of hard work have gone into getting the whisky bottled and ready for sale.

In a well considered strategic move, the lifeboat committee is to keep some bottles to sell at future specialist auctions and for other lifeboat fundraising ventures.

Tickets for a prize draw will go on sale soon for a bottle of the rare dram.

Special whiskies are seen as a good investment at the moment, with one rare bottle of The Macallan selling for £16,000 at the March Mulberry Bank Whisky Auction.

Angus MacRaild says there were Internet bids from all over the world and, talking of the whisky sale that day, says: ‘The hammer total was £175,665 and our previous best was £140,000. Daft money is being spent on whisky at the moment.’

The bottom line here is that money for Oban lifeboat is among the least daft money imaginable.

C'est en effet une excellente maison.

Toutefois petite précision, Angus n'est plus le responsable des whisky c'est Nicola Young qui à repris le flambeau, avec tout autant de brillance.
